The Monkey with the Wooden Apples

Yu Pengnian is an 88-year-old real estate Chinese businessman. Last week Bill Gates and Warren Buffett came to Beijing. Gates and Buffett, two of the world’s richest men, are also the world’s biggest philanthropists. Some scientists say that animals in the oceans are increasingly threatened by noise pollution caused by human beings.
The noise that affects sea creatures comes from a number of human activities. It is caused mainly by industrial underwater explosions, ocean drilling, and ship engines. Lead poisoning （鉛中毒）happens when lead is present in high levels in the blood of a person. It is one of the most common medical problems found in children. And it’s important to recognize the presence of lead in children’s bodies because lead is very harmful.

Although many Chinese students say that their knowledge of English grammar is good, most would admit that their spoken English is poor. Instead of actively seeking out opportunities to improve their spoken English they passively (被動(dòng)地)wait for speaking opportunities to come to them and wonder why their English always remains poor.
